Jillise is off. With very few tears, I might add. Just a few right when I woke her up. And to be honest, *I* felt like crying when my alarm went off that early, too.

Brian caught the late bus into work so he could be here to say goodbye this morning. It was nice to have us all up and together. I tried to make the yummy butterscotch rolls we had at our Relief Society retreat but they didn't turn out very well so the girls had frozen waffles. Oh, well.

I think we are in for a good year. Jillise has a few girlfriends in her class this year and she got a really good teacher. I think she is more excited than scared or nervous and she eagerly hopped out of the car and ran in with her friend Grayson at dropoff, so that is a REALLY good sign.

Joelle starts kindergarten this year, but she doesn't really get into the swing of things until next week. We go for a one on one "meet the teacher" today, then half of her class will go on Thursday, and the other half on Friday. Then on Monday everyone is there and the poor teacher starts thinking that early retirement is a great thing.

It is oddly quiet now. It is only 8:20 and I am showered and dressed and my kitchen is clean. Today I start my piano lesson schedule and both girls have soccer so the next thing on my to-do list is to get dinner in the crockpot. I am also on a sewing roll -- I hemmed five pairs of jeans yesterday for the girls and today I am altering soccer clothes so Joelle doesn't trip on the bottom of the pants and Jillise isn't constantly trying to keep her pants up while running. I'll have after school updates later!

She looks so old. It is nice to see an appearance of Brian too. Andy is never in my blogs either it feels like. I love Joelle's bangs, they look so great on her. Good luck to the busy school schedule!
Yay! Glad to hear Jillise is happy & excited for the school year & the morning went well. She looks so cute!
*And I love Joelle's new bangs -- makes her look very model-esque. Is it just me or had the color of her hair changed dramatically in the last year? I thought it used to be blondie blonde?
Yeah, Joelle's hair has gotten much darker. She is destined for the land of ash blonde, just like her mom. And I love her new bangs, too. She is a free spirit and LOVES her hair down, but her hair was always hanging in her face. Now it is in her face, but she can at least see!
I am so glad it was a good sendoff instead of the trauma filled ones of the past. I love that Brian got to go in late--I'm sure all of the kids loved having him there for a little longer in the morning.
YEAH GIRLS!! How fun! We got the cute post card Jillise sent- love it! Check your mail for something from us soon. I just love school!
sounds like its more quiet there now. Hope that your kids have a wonderful day at school.
What an adorable second grader! I am glad that the send off was a sweet one - We had a great morning as well:)
So far second grade seems so much smoother than first was- we'll keep our fingers crossed that that continues! Love the HSM backpack!
Yay! it is so nice to see the kids survive the first day! They all look so cute, love the pictures with Brian!
Seriously, how cute are your girls?! I got a peak of Jillise bounding up the walkway to get to class, and she was confident and beaming :) And Joelle with those bangs, SO CUTE! Great look on her.
Jillise looks SO grown up! Did Joelle's hair get DARKER over the summer? Her bangs are very cute. Such cute kids you have!
Isn't it so weird being back on a school schedule? This is my first year to really enjoy the at home part of back to school. I think that I can get use to this!:)
