Joelle is forever saying clever and witty things that keep us in stitches. Of course I am not very good at writing them down. But Brian told me this one from last night and I HAVE to preserve it for my sake and for Jillise's.
Last night Jillise was being pretty crabby (her usual M.O. as of late). She was asked to give the blessing on the food before dinner and at one point said, "And help me to not be..." and she evidentally paused long enough for Joelle to say, "grumpy." Which of course caused Jillise to get angry and say,"Jo-ELLE!!" Then she finished her prayer, "help me not to do what I was just doing..." Poor Jillise. I fear that she inherited far too much of me. She is destined to a life of short tempers and stinkpot little siblings. She is doomed.

I can relate all too well.
how funny! And I say way to go Joelle! Sometimes those oldest children need to be put in their place.

We need Joelle to come over to our house, we've had some very grumpy girls lately!!
I think that is why children are here on earth to help not to be so serious and to say it how it is. I love her prayer - and you know it was heard:)
That is hillarious! Jillise and Jacey remind me of each other! Thanks for sharing that funny little story!
You know, we have had a lot of grumpiness from our first grader lately too...hmmm
Before I had kids, I thought first graders were perfect. Maybe because they are if you are their TEACHER. Being the parent of one is a whole different ballgame.
I think your two girls are kindred spirits of my two oldest.
LOL! thats pretty funny. although, i must have a terrible memory. i dont really remember you being grumpy. did i miss something?
Hey there, I can't believe you don't have a picture of Joelle's crazy hair on here! I LOVED it!!! I told her she should wear it like that every day. I'm sure you wouldn't mind doing that, would you?!?
Sounds like you had fun in the rain as a kid, you who doesn't like to get wet and cold? Did you see my other comment on there? I don't know that person and I can't figure out what they meant. kinda creepy!
Good to know. I didn't know there was such a thing as comment spam. Man, people really do have way too much time on their hands, not including us of course! :) I need to get your email address from you, so I don't always leave retarded comments on your blog.
