Visiting Teaching

In our church the women have a little method for looking after one another. It's called Visiting Teaching. We are all paired with another sister and we are given a route of a few other women that we are asked to visit with once a month. We have a spiritual message that we bring to share, but we often chat, talk about kids, and catch up. Our visiting teachers are women we can call on at any time to help us when we need it and it is a great blessing to know that they are out there. I have had some great visiting teachers in my life and I am trying hard to be one myself.

Visiting teaching isn't supposed to be a "chore" but I think that all of us have felt at some time or another that it is just one more thing on our "to do" list, even though once we are out and doing it we feel great. My cousin sent me this link to a movie a ward put together about visiting teaching. It totally cracked me up. It is kind of sad how many times I thought, "Uh, oh. I think I have done that before!!"

That was pretty funny! I know I'm working on being a better V-teacher, because I feel like I have totally dropped the ball recently. At least this lightened my spirits a bit :)
