Dear Ms. Mother Nature,
You are SO not my favorite person right now. The 17" of snow you chose to grace us with the weeks before Christmas was bad enough. I was a fairly good sport when school was cancelled four of the five days the week leading up to Christmas Break. I didn't even mind the freezing rain we got earlier this week that made my driveway an inclined skating rink.
But now school is all set to start tomorrow and the kids (and parents) are MORE than ready. And you decide to send MORE SNOW. Please cease and desist all precipitation RIGHT NOW. I think I may just burst into tears if I get another 5:40 am call that school has been cancelled. We are in desperate need of a return to structure and a schedule. I need to get back to the gym and I need a chance to clean the house without three little "helpers" undoing everything I have done.
So please. PUH-LEEZE!!! Stop toying with me! Send the clouds to the Southwest or some place where they need the precipitation. I'm DONE.
Sincerely,
Paige

I'm sorry for your snow situation. We have the opposite problem this year; we haven't had one bit of snow! I'm feeling it, for sure, because winter just isn't winter without it. There has to be a happy medium somewhere, doesn't there?
I think we've got that happy medium! It snowed on Christmas, which was cool...and it snowed a couple of days ago. But today- beautiful sunshine. Yes, it's freezing cold, but SUN!!! It did my heart some good. I'm so sorry mother nature is not answering your calls and letters, that's just rude. I think you've been through enough! I will also lobby for a cease and desist on the snow for you.
I totally understand! What ever you guys get we get the next day. I am about sick of it too! But we don't get school canceled. I might be ready to cry if it was. Heres praying there is school today!
Amen...send it to us. We're on the benches in Utah where we're *supposed* to have a ton of snow, but it's only snowed twice in the last 6 weeks. And we'll all be crying about it come summer when, once again, we don't have enough water to survive comfortably!
Crossing my fingers for you! We go back today and I am so glad that we are, I can't handle it anymore! :)
Wow, that is a lot of snow. I can't say that I feel your pain, living in Tucson we don't get much of that. It has been cold, and we have had a little snow. The kind that falls to the ground and melts right away. I hope your schedule gets back on track and that mother nature takes your letter seriously!!
I whole-heartedly agree! All I have to say is M. Nature is lucky school wasn't canceled today!
Amen to that! I'm SO glad the kids went to school today, they may have been traumatized for life if they'd had to witness my breakdown if there was another day off.
I think Mom Nature is answering the prayers of the school employees (and I'm one of them) who would just LOVE another day or two of vacation!
I'm sure glad I don't live in Spokane anymore. As of December 1st they have had 5 1/2 FEET of snow. That is insane. Broke all the records. I can't imagine shoveling all that off the driveway. The warm-up is coming, so the weather-man says. I can't wait. I'm tired of being cold-to-the-bone.
We could use a little snow here in DC!
I was just saying how glad I was the big yellow bus came to take my children to school today, because otherwise it would have been a really bad day! I need them to go, THEY needed to go, and everything now feels back on track because the DID go :)
No more snow!!!
great letter!
Maybe mother nature thought we needed more "quality time" with out kids. :)
I was stressing out a little Sunday night too, but was very relieved to have them back at school:)
I need a good week and then I'll be ready for some more snow. Ha!
LOL! Dude, sign my name on that letter too! It just snowed for about 20 hours straight and we received at least 8-10" of new snow. Add that to the frozen 6-8" of snow we already had...no fun! The roads are horrible and I shoveled our drive way twice today! Ryan did it late last night, and then again tonight! Come on MOther Nature, let up, will ya?
i sooooo have a comment for this (even though i read it late) but you dont wanna hear it....maybe you should get snowed in at my house next time...that would be fun!!!!
Paigey,
I loved this post! I have finally caught up on your family! So sorry you got the extra snow. I felt the same when we were in UT. I loved it in December but wanted it to stop Jan. 1. I totally understand your woes. ENDURE! I also really liked your talk below. I remember when I was asked to speak in UT and I would invite you along to sing before so I could ensure the listeners would at least be touched by you if they weren't by the words I shared. ;) How are you? Let's talk soon- K
AMEN! And, well said ;)
