EDITED -- I fixed the link to Ree's Pioneer Woman Site. Go there. You won't be disappointed.
I was reading the blogs of some of my favorite fake friends (Ree has to be my #1 fake friend who I have never met) and I am just amazed at the creative writing abilities that some of these women have. They can sit down and type out a story about their lives EVERY DAY and I will spend hours and hours reading the archives. Sad, I know. And yet I sit down more than a week after my last entry and I am STUMPED. My biggest news was that they moved Jillise's ballet class back an hour and it screwed up my teaching schedule. But it was resolved in 15 minutes and all is well again.
When I first started blogging I actually had a little sticky note by my computer where I would jot down "blog ideas." Maybe I need to start that up again. I could copy Ree and add photo caption contests and recipes (complete with mouth watering pictures -- though I doubt fat free mashed potatoes or zucchini flax muffins are going to have you running to your kitchens). Lots of people post their original poetry, but when I "wax poetic" it is strickly in the figurative sense.
So until my creative juices start running again I suppose you will all be stuck with boring weekend updates and weightloss frustrations.

Doesn't matter what you write Paige, I'll be reading! =)
Hey - this is YOUR 'journal-type- life-happening' report - we just get to peek in on it. Besides, it's interesting to see beyond the Sunday smiles and feel the support of others who are doing the best they can living everyday!
I love Ree, too. She's a great fake friend to have :)
Isn't it weird how blogging can make you feel like you have friends that you really don't have?
I for one LOVE to read your blog, no matter what it is you are writing -- because it's you!!! In fact, I think your writing is as real and humorous as Ree's! Just keep on sharing so that those of us who know and love you can feel that much more apart of your life :)
Paige, I secretly have a private creative writing blog, where I play with words, write deep feelings that I'd rather people not know about, and experiment with writing. It's a good outlet and it's a great breeding ground for ideas that could make something interesting out of the experiences that can feel mundane. Not that I am in anyway encouraging the idea that your blog is boring. I think the little day-to-day anecdotes are the most telling about someone, and the most insightful into others lives. I enjoy it.
PS. I never knew you saw yourself as a wanna-be vegetarian crunchy granola hippie. I wish I owned a hybrid. Looks like we have some interests in common, Paige. I think your healthy food sounds like the kind of recipes I'm looking for. I'm impressed with anyone who tries to cook the best they can by combining good healthy ingredients with good taste.
Your "boring" weekend updates and weightloss frustrations are not boring to me, my friend! Love everything you have to say :)
Just remember that this is your journal, it's not here to keep us entertained (though I do enjoy reading it), it's for you to look back on and have "aahhhh" moments remmebering how wonderful your kids are.
