Twenty by Christmas

I have been ordered by the powers that be to update my blog and remove the tempting picture of blackberry cobbler that we have all been salivating over from the the top of my page. So I will replace it with a little blurb on my new goal.

TWENTY POUNDS GONE BY CHRISTMAS

This is a group goal. If you want to join in, you pony up $25. If you lose 20 lbs by Christmas (and we will just have to take your word for it because *I* don't want to monitor scales) then you get $20 back. The other remaining $5 goes to the person who has lost the highest percentage of WEIGHT. This is a CHANGE from the original email which said it would be the highest percentage of fat loss. That involves too much math and/or a special scale and I never know if my fancy scale is right or not so we are going with losing the highest percentage of WEIGHT. Despite my dismal final grade the last marking period of highschool math, I think even I can figure that one out. If you DON'T lose 20 lbs by Christmas, your $20 gets divided up among those who are successful. They can use to to buy Godiva Chocolates for their New Years Eve party.

So, if you want in, let me know. We officially start September 1st, though I must say that just by not stuffing my face after dinner and in the afternoon on ice cream sandwiches I have managed to lose 2 lbs in the past week and a half and am almost down to where I was at the start of the summer. Which still leaves much to be desired, but is better than nothing. So when school starts next week I will try to throw in breaking a sweat doing something other than carrying laundry and a toddler up and down the stairs.

BRING IT!

I would love to be in on the weight loss, but don't gamble, so I can't put in money. Plus I think that 20 pounds is a little to much for me. I want to lose 10! But hey, I sounds like a fun game.

great challenge idea! Good luck with your goals. I'm excited for the school year to start -- thinking I'm going to do some walking with Anna (in a stroller) on the mornings both boys are in school. I always seem to have good intentions; we'll see if I turn it into action this time. =)

I have some hope of losing it but--my scale is packed!!! Of course, I am too far away for the game. But, I wanted to let you know that I will be back for my scale on Sept 17-21st!! See you then!

Great idea for motivation! My SIL was working with LA Weight Loss where she did the same thing. And since you are in control of the results than what you get back is entirely in your hands, it's not a "risk". I would love to lose 20, so this sounds perfect for me!

I'm in. Will you email me your address and I will mail you a check? (I probably have it somewhere, but don't ask me where the somewhere is!)

PS I invited the moms from one of my boards...hope that is okay. Not sure if any of them will want to do it, but since lots of us are trying to lose together, I thought I would ask.

Guess I probably don't qualify huh? What a great idea though. P.S. Thanks for the new post! ;-)
