Shopping for Jeans as a Pair

Last night I found a coupon for Chevy's Restaurant: buy one entree and get the second for $3.99. We LOVE Chevy's. Some of the best fat and sodium you can get on a plate. And if you can ingest that for CHEAP?? Even better. So we rounded up a babysitter and headed into town. Plus, I had a two pound weight loss week. I could indulge for a night and I have an entire week to try to recover from it.

So I enjoyed my chicken fajitas and pork tamale and chips and salsa. Immensely. Then we went to Coldstone Creamery where I had vanilla cream mixed with Butterfinger, caramel, and fudge. It was light ice cream. Do I get partial credit?

Then after all of that gluttony I dragged Brian with me on my hunt for jeans. Brian hates shopping. He hates it even more if it involves trying things on. So he found himself a chair and played games on his Blackberry while I shopped and tried things on. In my post dinner bloat I was able to find TWO PAIR. Weeeeeeee!! One is still too long, but it is a thin denim and makes my tushie cute, so I am hoping to bribe a friend to hem them. Kristin, how much did you have to pay a professional to hem yours?? I also found three pairs of shoes (those will always fit, no matter how much I weigh or how many tamales I eat) and a shirt. Cha-CHING. And Brian payed for it. Perfect.

Then to make Brian's life even more miserable I made him go grocery shopping with me since we were in the land of Winco and I could get everything on my list PLUS extras and still come in under budget. We were home by 10:00.

Today I am up a pound. Small price to pay for a fun spontaneous date night with my hubby and some new clothes. :)

WOW you are up to 18lbs! Which means it's a perfect date, buying jeans and going out to eat!

WOW Paige, you are just all together all around amazing! I am impressed and way to go getting brian to go shopping. It would take a lot of convincing to get andy to go jean shopping!

Paige--I paid 12, but honestly, I wasn't horribly impressed with the quality of that tailor. I had gotten that particular pair of dress pants from Old Navy on a killer deal for like $13, so it was not a bad total at all.

Dave used a more professional place to get four pairs of dress pants done a couple of months ago. (I don't think they could have gotten mine back in time for the dinner I needed them for, so I tried someone else.) I think they charged closer to $20 per pair, but his had a cuff and were more complicated that way. As the big city attorney, you gotta have pants that fit, so it was worth it. He is too short for a 32 and too tall for a 30.

That just sounds like heaven on Earth! Dinner, ice cream and shopping with no kids, life doesn't get much better than that!

yeah!! How exciting that you were able to find jeans. I hate jean shopping, but know that there will come a day when I will have to do that again. Right now I am okay with the elastic band! And, I am not "petite", so I usually have a hard time finding jeans long enough. Thank goodness for Gap is all I can say!

Sounds lovely. The ice cream sounds heavenly. I miss Winco. Nothing like that around here. I thought I would at least have a Food 4 Less to stock up occasionally, but they are all gone now.
