Pure Poetry

Jillise's class is doing a poetry unit. She had to write a rhyming poem and a haiku. Here were her contributions to the poety page:

BASEBALL

Watching baseball's fun for dad.
But that just always makes me mad.
I always want to watch TV,
But baseball's not that fun for me.

FLOWER HAIKU

Flowers smell so nice.
I have some by my front door.
There are lots of kinds.

The baseball one totally made me laugh! Sounds like you guys need another TV so the rest of the family can watch something different during baseball and basketball season ;)
She is quite the poet! Nice work, Jillese :)

Sometimes I feel like that about baseball around here - it is the "Weitzel family sport" you know - but come on - I take HGTV over ESPN anytime:) I love how she was able to express herself!

So what did your husband say about that poem? :) She's definitely got some word talent going on!

cute baseball poem! haha. She needs to realize the girls out number the boys in your house and use that to pull some rank! I know that I was always out-voted on tv shows (5 boys to 2 girls).

I loved the baseball one, and laughed when I read it on the paper Bailey brought home :) His of course was about bugs. Go figure :)

Oh, and thanks for the recipe below! I finally got to taste this chili that everyone has raved about, and I did love it!

Dear Jillise can I borrow that poem to read to Jeff? I HATE baseball and he loves to watch it. I need him to hear this poem- it's probably the best poem I have ever read!! Thanks for writing it!
