You know that saying that says you don't know what you have until it's gone? I agree 100%. Especially when that thing that goes is your CAR. Ugh. This morning I had everyone bundled up (with coats and hats and Joelle even had her blanket) and ready to drive to school and my car wouldn't start. My dad thinks it is probably an almost dead battery (boy do I hope he's right). So I am stranded here at home. I didn't have much planned today, but it took away my option of going to the gym. And Walmart. And driving my half of the ballet carpool. We figure we are on borrowed time with the van, anyway. I feel like I am in a horror movie, where everything is fine and good but you just KNOW that when you least expect it something is going to jump out of the closet. But in the horror movies the thing that jumps out of the closet doesn't usually cost thousands of dollars to fix or leave you stranded in a parking lot somewhere.
So I have begun a hunt for a new vehicle. And being a really good wife and mother so my husband will let me have one. Wish me luck. :)

I love car shopping! Are you going to go green like with your other car? I think the green cars are so cool! What do you have in mind? Anyway have fun!
Good luck!!! I'm so sorry about the predicament you're in. As you know, I was there myself recently and it's so not fun to know that you CAN'T go anywhere. Even if you have nothing that HAS to be done right away, just knowing you can't do it drove me crazy! I hope that the new battery fixes the problem tonight, and that you can find a new car soon, too. The one you are eyeing sounds fun to me, lets just hope that Brain agrees :) Let me know if you need any help with transportation today.
man, that stinks! So, so sorry.
But car shopping should be fun -- just think of all the new-fangled features that have come out since your last family car purchase. Our van is almost 5 years old and I'm dreaming of a built-in DVD player.
That stinks! I hate car shopping...but I like new cars:) I hope you find what you want. And as far as the horror movie, at least you won't get slashed or eaten, you might just feel like it after spending time with a car salesman!
If you are going to a dealership we have some tips! (Jake knows all this from working there)
Tip #1 - (if at all possible) Buy your vehicle at the last day.
Tip #2 - research online everything and bring the info. with you. That way they can't mess with the prices.
Tip #3 - Take the asking price and divid it by how many payments you want (example: 24,000 / 50 = 480) You'll be paying around $480 MOST! That's with nothing down and no collateral.
Tip #4 - Make sure Brian is there and does most of the talking, but put in your input to let the guy know you know what you're talking about too.
Either way hope these help and more importantly I hope it's just your battery! I HATE buying vehicles.
Tip #1 was last day of the month!! Sorry
Maybe a nice scooter? You could get a backpack for Jaren, and two little side cars for the girls. Just bundle up in the winter. That ought to save on gas, and groceries too. You will only buy what you can get in everyone's pockets! ;)
Congrats Paige! This is so fun!! Sorry about the breakdown! That's a bummer!! Have fun shopping!
p.s. Love Jillese's haircut! SO CUTE!!
